Kapitel 16

1 Es kam aber das Wort1697 des HErrn3068 zu Jehu3058, dem Sohn1121 Hananis2607, wider Baesa1201 und sprach559:

2 Darum, daß ich dich aus dem Staube6083 erhoben7311 habe5414 und zum Fürsten5057 gemacht über mein Volk5971 Israel3478, und du wandelst3212 in dem Wege1870 Jerobeams3379 und machest mein Volk5971 Israel3478 sündigen2398, daß du mich erzürnest durch ihre Sünde2403,

3 siehe, so will ich die1121 Nachkommen Baesas1201 und310 die Nachkommen seines Hauses1004 wegnehmen1197 und310 will dein Haus1004 setzen5414 wie das Haus1004 Jerobeams3379, des Sohns Nebats5028.

4 Wer von Baesa1201 stirbt4191 in der Stadt5892, den sollen die Hunde3611 fressen398; und wer von ihm stirbt4191 auf dem Felde7704, den sollen die Vögel5775 des Himmels8064 fressen398.

5 Was aber mehr von Baesa1201 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 was er getan6213 hat, und3117 seine Macht1369, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 der Könige4428 Israels3478.

6 Und Baesa1201 entschlief7901 mit seinen Vätern1 und ward begraben6912 zu Thirza8656. Und sein Sohn1121 Ela425 ward König4427 an seiner Statt.

7 Auch das4639 Wort1697 des HErrn3068 kam durch den Propheten5030 Jehu3058, den Sohn1121 Hananis2607, über Baesa1201 und über sein Haus1004 und wider alles Übel, das er3379 tat vor5869 dem7451 HErrn3068, ihn3027 zu erzürnen3707 durch die Werke seiner Hände3027, daß es würde wie das Haus1004 Jerobeams, und darum daß er diesen erschlagen hatte6213.

8 Im sechsundzwanzigsten Jahr8141 Assas, des Königs Judas, ward4427 Ela425, der Sohn1121 Baesas1201, König4428 über Israel3478 zu Thirza8656 zwei Jahre8141.

9 Aber sein Knecht5650 Simri2174, der Oberste8269 über die Hälfte4276 der Wagen7393, machte einen Bund7194 wider ihn. Er aber war zu Thirza8656, trank8354 und1004 ward trunken7910 im Hause1004 Arzas777, des Vogts zu Thirza8656.

10 Und4427 Simri2174 kam935 hinein und schlug5221 ihn tot im siebenundzwanzigsten7651 Jahr8141 Assas, des Königs Judas, und ward4191 König4428 an seiner Statt.

11 Und da er König4427 war7604 und auf seinem Stuhl3678 saß3427, schlug5221 er das ganze Haus1004 Baesas1201 und ließ nicht über auch den, der an die Wand7023 pisset, dazu seine Erben1350 und seine Freunde7453.

12 Also vertilgte8045 Simri2174 das ganze Haus1004 Baesas1201 nach dem Wort1697 des HErrn3068, das er über Baesa1201 geredet hatte1696 durch3027 den Propheten5030 Jehu3058,

13 um aller Sünden2403 willen Baesas1201 und2403 seines Sohns Ela425, die sie taten2398 und1121 Israel3478 sündigen2398 machten, den HErrn3068, den GOtt430 Israels3478, zu erzürnen3707 durch ihre Abgötterei1892.

14 Was aber mehr von Ela425 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 alles, was er getan6213 hat, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 der Könige4428 Israels3478.

15 Im siebenundzwanzigsten7651 Jahr8141 Assas, des Königs Judas, ward8141 Simri2174 König4428 sieben7651 Tage3117 zu Thirza8656. Denn das Volk5971 lag2583 vor Gibethon der Philister6430.

16 Da aber das8085 Volk5971 im Lager2583 hörete sagen559, daß Simri2174 einen Bund gemacht7194 und auch den König4428 erschlagen5221 hätte, da machte4427 ganz Israel3478 desselben Tages3117 Amri, den Feldhauptmann8269, zum Könige über Israel3478 im Lager4264.

17 Und Amri zog5927 herauf und das ganze Israel3478 mit ihm von Gibethon und belagerten6696 Thirza8656.

18 Da3920 aber Simri2174 sah7200, daß die Stadt5892 sollte gewonnen werden8313, ging935 er in den Palast759 im Hause1004 des Königs4428 und verbrannte sich mit dem Hause1004 des Königs4428 und starb4191

19 um seiner Sünden2403 willen, die er3379 getan2398 hatte6213, daß er tat, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel5869, und wandelte3212 in dem Wege1870 Jerobeams und in seiner Sünde2403, die er tat, daß er Israel3478 sündigen2398 machte6213.

20 Was aber mehr von Simri2174 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 wie er einen3117 Bund7195 machte7194, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 der Könige4428 Israels3478.

21 Dazumal teilte sich2505 das Volk5971 Israel3478 in zwei Teile2677. Eine Hälfte2677 hing an1961 Thibni8402, dem Sohn1121 Ginaths1527, daß sie5971 ihn zum Könige machten4427; die andere Hälfte2677 aber hing an Amri.

22 Aber das Volk5971, das an Amri hing, ward stärker2388 denn854 das Volk5971, das an Thibni8402 hing, dem Sohn1121 Ginaths1527. Und310 Thibni8402 starb4191; da310 ward Amri König4427.

23 Im einunddreißigsten259 Jahr8141 Assas, des Königs Judas, ward4427 Amri König4428 über Israel3478 zwölf6240 Jahre8141 und4427 regierete zu Thirza8656 sechs8337 Jahre8141.

24 Er1129 kaufte7069 den Berg2022 Samaria8111 von Semer8106 um zween Zentner3603 Silbers3701 und bauete auf den Berg2022; und hieß7121 die8034 Stadt5892, die er bauete, nach dem Namen8034 Semers, des Berges2022 Herrn113, Samaria8111.

25 Und Amri tat6213, das dem HErrn3068 übel7489 gefiel, und war ärger7451 denn alle6440, die vor5869 ihm gewesen waren.

26 Und1121 wandelte3212 in allen1870 Wegen Jerobeams, des Sohns Nebats5028, und in seinen Sünden2403, damit er3379 Israel3478 sündigen2398 machte, daß sie den HErrn3068, den GOtt430 Israels3478, erzürneten in ihrer Abgötterei1892.

27 Was aber mehr von Amri zu6213 sagen ist3789, und3499 alles, was er getan6213 hat, und3117 seine Macht1369, die er geübet hat, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 der Könige4428 Israels3478.

28 Und Amri entschlief7901 mit seinen Vätern1 und ward begraben6912 zu Samaria8111. Und Ahab256, sein Sohn1121, ward König4427 an seiner Statt.

29 Im achtunddreißigsten8083 Jahr8141 Assas, des Königs Judas, ward4427 Ahab256, der Sohn1121 Amris, König4428 über Israel3478 und256 regierte4427 über Israel3478 zu Samaria8111 zweiundzwanzig6242 Jahre8141.

30 Und256 tat6213, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel, über alle6440, die1121 vor5869 ihm gewesen waren.

31 Und5647 war1121 ihm ein Geringes7043, daß er3379 wandelte in der Sünde2403 Jerobeams, des Sohns Nebats5028, und nahm3947 dazu Isebel348, die Tochter1323 Ethbaals856, des Königs4428 zu Zidon, zum Weibe802; und ging3212 hin3212 und dienete Baal1168 und betete7812 ihn an.

32 Und richtete Baal1168 einen Altar4196 auf6965 im Hause1004 Baals1168, das er1129 ihm bauete zu Samaria8111.

33 Und256 machte6213 einen Hain842, daß Ahab256 mehr3254 tat6213, den HErrn3068, den GOtt430 Israels3478, zu erzürnen3707, denn alle Könige4428 Israels3478, die vor6440 ihm gewesen waren.

34 Zur selben Zeit3117 bauete Hiel2419 von3027 Bethel Jericho3405. Es kostete ihn seinen ersten Sohn1060 Abiram48, da er1129 den Grund3245 legte, und seinen jüngsten6810 Sohn1121 Segub7687, da er5324 die Türen1817 setzte, nach dem Wort1697 des HErrn3068, das er geredet hatte1696 durch Josua3091, den Sohn Nuns5126.

Chapter 16

1 THEN the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanan against Baasha, saying,

2 Thus says the LORD: Forasmuch as I have exalted you out of the dust and made you a ruler over my people Israel and you have walked in the ways of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin to provoke me to anger with the evil work of their hands;

3 Behold, I will pluck out one by one the posterity of Baasha and the posterity of his house, and I will make his house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

4 Him that dies of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dies in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.

5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and all that he did and all his might, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

6 So Baasha slept with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

7 And also by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanan the word of the LORD came against Baasha and against all his house, because of all the evil that he had done before the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the works of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he killed him.

8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.

9 And his servant Zimri, commander of the half of the horsemen, conspired against him as he was in Tirzah, drinking old wine in the house of cedar which he had built in Tirzah.

10 And Zimri went in and smote him and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.

11 And when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he slew all the house of Baasha; he left him not one male child, neither of his kinsfolks nor of his friends.

12 Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet

13 For all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son which they committed and made Israel to sin in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their idols.

14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gath, which belonged to the Philistines.

16 And the people who were encamped heard the news that Zimri had conspired, and had also slain the king; wherefore all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

17 And Omri went up from Gath, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

18 And when Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the shrine of the king's house and burned the king's house over him with fire, and died,

19 Because of the sins which he committed in doing evil in the sight of the LORD, in walking in the ways of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and the sins which he did to make Israel sin.

20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri and the treason that he wrought, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

21 Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath to make him king, and half followed Omri.

22 But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni; so Tibni died and Omri reigned.

23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel, and reigned for twelve years; six years he reigned in Tirzah.

24 And he bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for one talent of silver, and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill of Samaria.

25 But Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, and did worse than all the kings who were before him.

26 And he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger with their idols.

27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri, and all that he did and all his might, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

28 So Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

29 And in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all who were before him.

31 And as though it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he went and took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal and worshipped him.

32 And he erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he had built in Samaria.

33 And Ahab served idols; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

34 In his days did Ahab build the accursed place, Jericho; he finished it with the death of Abiram, his first-born, and set up its gates with the death of his younger son Shacob, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
